While the temperature outdoors may still lag behind, Spring is bursting out all
over in our cozy little shop. Many of our spring and summer yarns have arrived
along with many new hard and soft cover books and patterns. We highlight some
of our favorites below.

New Offerings:
  • the entire Beachcomber Bay line by Louisa Harding. Nautical Cotton,
Kimono and Sari Ribbon, Coquette (strewn with the tiniest multi-color
sequins), Glisten and Shingle in the most subtle and flattering shades.
Her accompanying pattern books are filled with gorgeous (and easy)
    possibilities.
  • the introduction of Tahki/S. Charles at the Village Knitter includes the one-
of-a-kind Rittrato (perfect for lace-weight year-round shawls), as well as
    many unusual novelty yarns.
  • Samoa by Katia knits up into the most amazing smooth cotton/silky rayon
striped summer wear with 3-4 skeins amounting to a killer tank top in no
time flat. Pinta Print is equally fascinating (Come see our sample
    summer purse).
  • Debbie Bliss' summer line includes a plied cotton as well as a smooth
tubular cotton in both a subtle and bright palette.
  • Berroco's newest yarn is called Love-It and we do! Gorgeous, crisp stitch
definition in a cotton/microfiber blend (very reminiscent of the fabled
Aurora 8), in a wide selection of solids and multi's. We can't keep the
    multi's in stock!
  • the designer of Noni Bags is at it again. See her latest stunning patterns
    here or @ www.nonibags.com

New Classes:
In addition to our ever-popular Knitting 101 & Crochet 101 classes, we've added
lots of fun, interesting choices. Wire knitting, felted beads, bikini thongs, shawls
& bags galore (both felted and non), just to name a few. See our calendar page
for the latest offerings.
Growing Pains
While we are still working out the expected new store kinks, we continue to make
wonderful new “fiber friends” who visit us regularly or only occasionally. As most of
you already know, the knitting community is a warm and welcoming one ready to
share knowledge, advice and inspiration with otherwise total strangers. Nothing
gives us more pleasure than watching our customers interact with one another. An
experienced knitter helping a “newbie” choose yarn, a pattern or her favorite
needles not only makes our job easier but reinforces the age-old tradition of
passing on the great art that truly is knitting.

Classes & Workshops
You will not believe this, (we didn’t), but since the Village Knitter first opened her
doors in late September, we have had nearly 150 (150!) students. While most of
our classes have been for beginners, we have also held many workshops for a
variety of advanced knitting & crochet techniques, including felting, socks & vintage-
style evening bags. If you were one of our Knitting 101 students, NOW is the time to
embrace those needles and perfect your newly discovered skills. Please see our
class calendar for current offerings.  Contrary to what you might think, spring and
summer knitting is awesome! (See our new products below).

New Products
Did you know that January is not only the month of the annual TNNA trade show but
also the month during which all the major yarn manufacturers make the rounds
with their new offerings? Oh my, talk about a kid in a candy store!  Crisp new
cottons, waxy linens, luxurious silks, just to name a few, all in a mouth-watering
array of colors and combos. You simply
must see and feel these beauties. We’ll
have new books, patterns and designers, as well. They will all be arriving on our
increasing shelf space shortly, so stay tuned!  Now is the time to knit that killer tank
top we all dream about for Summer '07.

Special Orders
Although we constantly try to provide a well-balanced mix of yarns, tools, patterns
and accessories, it’s nearly impossible with so much available and limited space.
If there is something you don't see, let us know. It can always be special ordered
with (usually) a short turnaround time.
