Spring/ Summer ’09 Class Schedule
Knitting 101 (for absolute beginners and those whose skills may be rusty). In this
one-session class, you will learn the foundation of all knitting: to cast on and the knit
stitch. $25
Purling 101 (the follow-up to Knitting 101). In this class you will learn the purl stitch
and to bind off, completing the Beginning Knitting sequence. $25
Beyond The Basics Now that you've learned your knits and purls, you're
ready to move on to learn increasing, decreasing, yarnovers and cables. The
following simple but stylish project classes will provide the perfect follow-up for any
beginning knitter.
SUMMER BLOCK PARTY!!!! Learn a different block each week to create a beautiful
afghan or pillow. Four one-hour lessons per month (Cost $60)

Sweater Knitting 101 In this intensive four-part class, you will learn to knit Fiber
Trend's Basic Tank top. Included is increasing, deceasing and finishing techniques.
A thorough knowledge of knit, purl, cast on and bind off is a prerequisite. If you're
bored with scarves and want to move into the big leagues, this is your class.

Advanced Classes
Advanced Sweater Construction An intensive 4-session series, this class includes
it all with an emphasis on finishing techniques. Prerequisite: Beginning Sweater
Construction or intermediate knitting skills. $90
Sock Clinic: Magic Loop If you're a double-pointed sock knitter and would like to
learn a faster, easier way, this is it. Intermediate knitting skills (or previous sock
knitting) required. $45
Entrelac Explained If you've been putting off learning because it just seems too
difficult, now's the time. We will de-construct the process and have you on your way to
completing a beautiful scarf. $45 TBA
Sea Lettuce Scarf by the incomparable designer Lucy Neatby. Perhaps you've seen
or heard of it, this one's a head turner. Short row shaping and an unorthodox method
yields incredible results. For Intermediate knitters. $25 & pattern purchase.

Crochet 101 This introductory class will teach you the basics, including slip stitch,

Handpainted Yarn-Dyeing Workshop
Have fun with none of the at-home mess of mixing dyes, while creating beautiful
unique yarn. We will be working with Jacquard Dyes and the fabulous sock blanks
from Knitpicks. $30 includes all materials and one sock blank. (Additional sock blanks

Kids' Knitting Kamp! (ages 8 & up) Not only is knitting FUN but it improves fine
motor skills, math abilities, direction following and provides nearly instant gratification

one of the largest growth segments in knitting today. Learn now a valuable craft for life.

Chances are, it’s been a long week and you could use a relaxing night out knitting with
the girls. (Men welcome also). No instruction, per se, just lots of support, ideas and

Please register early to reserve your space and avoid unnecessary cancellations. Full payment is required at time of registration. Please be certain of your availability as there are no refunds if you must cancel. If The Village Knitter must cancel a class, a full refund will be given.
