She Came, She Saw, We Knitted!!!!!
On Sunday, September 23, sixteen lucky knitters had
the privilege of knitting with Louisa Harding, one of our
favorite knitting designers and author. Here for a very
brief visit from her native U.K., Louisa led a workshop
in color and design knitting. She brought with her
nearly all of the fabulous sweaters from her two latest
books in the "Venezia" series. If you have not yet seen
the books, you simply must. Photographed on and
around the Grand Canal in Venice, they tell a
magnificent love story based upon Louisa's own life.
Breathtaking photography, along with thoughtfully
designed sweaters fill these pattern books. As a former
fashion student, Louisa explained the lengthy process
of designing a sweater as well as where she gets her
inspiration. Those of us who modeled her garments
were amazed at how innovative, stylish and ultimately
wearable each sweater actually is. Many of us now
have nearly all of our winter knitting projects planned!
